Alexandre Gustave Eiffel was a French civil engineer, architect, and one of the founding members of Plus Ultra and Tomorrowland, along with Nikola Tesla, Jules Verne, and Thomas Edison.

He is best known for the Eiffel Tower and other buildings and bridges. Aside from engineering and architecture, he also studied the sciences of meteorology and aerodynamics, making important contributions to both fields.

He designed and built the Eiffel Tower for the 1889 Universal Exposition of Paris. On September 10, 1889, it was in his apartment at the top of the tower that he would meet his future Plus Ultra collaborators.
